Copyright & Intellectual Property

1. Ownership

Duckham Meridian Group Ltd (trading as DMG) owns, or licenses, all intellectual property rights in GreenThread, including its software, source code, design, layout, text, graphics, logos, calculation methods, report templates, framework summaries, compiled factor library and documentation. These rights are protected by UK and international copyright, database right, trade mark and other laws.

2. Trade marks

GreenThread, DMG, the DMG logo and the names of our other products (including SafeThread, RiskThread, ComplianceCheck and ProtectThread) are trade marks of Duckham Meridian Group Ltd. You may not use them, or anything confusingly similar, without our written permission. Other names and logos belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.

3. Your licence to use the service

While your subscription is active, we grant your organisation a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use GreenThread for its own internal business purposes under our Terms of Service. No other rights are granted, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved.

4. What you may not do

• Copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of the software or website.
• Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where the law expressly allows this.
• Extract, scrape or republish our factor library, framework content or templates in bulk, or use them to build a competing product.
• Resell, sublicense, rent or provide GreenThread to third parties as a bureau service without a written agreement.
• Remove or obscure copyright, trade mark or other notices.
• Use the service or its content to train machine learning models.

5. Your data and reports

You keep all rights in the data you enter or upload. You give us a licence to host and process it only to provide the service. Reports and exports you produce from your own data are yours to use and publish, including in annual reports and regulatory filings. Our report layouts and methodology wording remain ours, but you may reproduce them as part of those outputs.

6. Third-party content

Emission factors and other reference data are drawn from published sources such as UK Government GHG Conversion Factors (Crown copyright, Open Government Licence v3.0), US EPA, the IEA and the IPCC. Each factor shows its source. Those sources keep their own rights, and their terms apply to the underlying data. Open-source software in GreenThread is used under its own licence terms.

7. Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without restriction or payment. This does not give us any rights in your data.
